AUKUS Allies Australia, UK Strike Deal On Nuclear Submarines, Sign New Defense Pact Aimed At China

The United Kingdom and Australia elevated their defence ties to “NATO level” with a new agreement in Canberra on March 21. The UK’s defence minister said it was extraordinary that the “UK and Australia didn’t already have a defence cooperation treaty in place.”The deal established a legal framework to host troops & share military intelligence between the two nations. The deal is seen as a boost to the fledgling nuclear-powered submarine programme with the United States.
