—Leaders from across the European Union are meeting in Brussels, with the humanitarian crisis in Gaza high on their agenda, alongside Ukraine and plans to develop Europe’s defense capabilities.

—A man with end-stage kidney disease was given the organ at a hospital in Boston last week. The organ was specially modified with the CRISPR gene editing technique to remove harmful pig genes and add human ones to boost its compability. Until now pig kidneys had only been temporarily transplanted into brain dead patients.
