World War II-Era Bomb Detonated At Belgium Beach

Authorities on February 28 successfully detonated a World War Two-era bomb found on a beach in Belgium.

Footage posted on social media showed a large plume of black smoke rising across an empty beach in Koksijde as a team from the Belgian military’s bomb disposal unit blew up the explosive.

Police said the bomb came from an aircraft and weighed over 100 kilograms.

Local media have described a discovery like this as not uncommon.
