As elections loom, India's main opposition party scrambles to turn the tide I DW News

Indians go to the polls soon, in a general election set to take place between April and May. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his BJP party are riding a wave of popularity, and currently on an all-time high. The only other big national party, Congress, is struggling to find its way in an election race that many experts believe is already decided.

Their leader, Rahul Gandhi is travelling the vast nation from East to West, trying to mobilize mass support, following two election defeats to Modi. DW correspondent Manira Chaudhary reports from Aligarh, where she joined the campaign trail.
