Russia’s much-hyped hypersonic missile programme has so far seen multiple arrests and deaths amid spiralling tensions with the West. At least 12 scientists in Russia have reportedly been detained and three have died in politically motivated arrests linked to its hypersonic missile programme. All are charged under the article on “state treason” allegedly for selling classified information, BBC News Russian reported. The FSB* began to closely monitor specialists in this field after 2018 when President Putin presented hypersonic missiles “which have no analogues”.
