A fire that erupted onboard an oil tanker after it was hit by a Houthi missile in the Gulf of Aden has been fully extinguished, according to its operator. UK Defence secretary Grant Shapps said the UK government remains “as committed” as ever to protecting the freedom of navigation in the Red Sea. The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations agency says it has received a report of an incident involving a small craft and a merchant vessel east of Somalia.
