French President Emmanuel Macron pays state visit to Germany, accompanied by Brigitte Macron. This is the first state visit by a French president in 24 years. It was first planned in early July 2023 but was reported because of days of violent unrest in France. On the first day, Emmanuel Macron will hold events in Berlin in the company of German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier.

– 1445 GMT Steinmeier and Macron hold joint press conference
– 1545 GMT 2024 Franco-German summer of sport kick-off
– 1605 GMT Joint walk with Mayor of Berlin Kai Wegner, through Brandenburg Gate and signature in Golden Book
– 1800 GMT Welcome by Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and Elke Büdenbender at Bellevue Palace
– 1820 GMT Speeches before official dinner
