What could happen in Iran if the country’s president is found dead? | DW News

Several countries including Turkey and Russia are offering to help find a helicopter carrying Iran’s president Ebrahim Raisi after it went down on Sunday. Search teams are scouring a fog-covered mountain near the country’s border with Azerbaijan. Officials say Ebrahim Raisi’s helicopter was forced to make a ‘hard landing’ in the area but offered no further details. Iran’s foreign minister was said to be traveling with Raisi. Both were on their way back from inaugurating a hydroelectric dam project.
