Vladimir Putin sworn in for unprecedented fifth term | DW News

Vladimir Putin has been sworn-in as president for a record fifth term. He took the oath of office in a lavish ceremony at the Kremlin in Moscow. But many Western countries boycotted the event due to the war in Ukraine. Putin won a landslide victory in a controversial election in March, as no genuine opposition candidate was allowed to run against him. During his inauguration address, Putin said leading was a ‘sacred duty,’ and that the country would pass through this difficult period. Analysis from Roman Goncharenko from DW Russia.
