War-affected Sudanese rely on digital money apps for survival

Financial institutions in Sudan’s capital have been destroyed by the fighting between the army and paramilitary Rapid Support Forces. That’s made it difficult for people still trapped in Khartoum to get money – while the prices of basic commodities have skyrocketed. Many are turning to apps instead to get their funds.
