Bodies recovered from migrant shipwreck off Djibouti | DW News

Children are among at least 38 dead and at least six people still missing after a migrant boat has sunk, according to the United Nations.

Local authorities are helping a group of survivors. The boat was carrying around 60 migrants from Djibouti to Yemen. Thousands of migrants try to reach Gulf countries from the Horn of Africa each year on the so-called ‘eastern route’ through the Red Sea. The UN migration agency describes this route as one of the “most dangerous migratory routes in the world.”
