As India prepares to hold an election, an uninhabited island between India and Sri Lanka is fast becoming a campaign issue.

The rights to Katchatheevu and the waters around it were ceded to Sri Lanka in the 1970s.

But India’s BJP is blaming the opposition Congress and DMK parties for that decision.
