Nigeria sends troops to search for 280 kidnapped children | DW News

Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinbu has sent troops to search for more than 280 kidnapped children in the north-west. They’re combing large areas of forest, after the abduction from a school in the village of Kuriga in Kaduna state. Kidnappings for ransom are common in the region. It’s estimated that around 1,500 students have been taken by gangs and jihadists over the past decade.
