Haiti gang violence: Prime minister unable to return

Haiti’s capital remains mostly paralysed by violence, with gangs warning of civil war if Prime Minister Ariel Henry doesn’t step down. Prime Minister Ariel Henry is still in Puerto Rico, unable to return home. There’s been a surge in violence in the past week – since he left the country in a bid for international aid. Haiti is in a state of emergency. Gangs are demanding that he resign. The international airport in Port-au-Prince remains closed, and most businesses have shut down.
