World leaders in Ukraine to mark second anniversary of war: What to expect | DW News

Western leaders have arrived in Ukraine to mark the second anniversary of Russia’s invasion. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen arrived in Kyiv Saturday morning. Italian prime minister Giorgia Meloni is also among leaders visting Kyiv. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and visiting delegates are expected to discuss new sanctions against Russia. The Western allies are in agreement that Ukraine needs a massive boost in military aid to free its territory from Russian occupation. It’s a message they brought to the United Nations on the eve of the anniversary.
