“Senator J.D. Vance (R-OH) told ABC’s George Stephanopoulos that it’s “insulting to victims of sexual assault” to imply their lives would be worse if they voted for Donald Trump.

Stephanopoulos played a Democrat-backed PSA centered around the E. Jean Carroll rape and defamation cases, then asked Vance how he felt about it.

The PSA said in part:

Supporting Donald Trump sends a message to every abuser, every rapist, and every man who ever used his power to hurt a woman. Because if he can do it, why shouldn’t they?

Stephanopoulos then asked Vance, “How do you respond to that, that your support of Trump is sanctioning that kind of behavior, sexual assault and defamation?”
