Israel will present its arguments during a public hearing at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) initiated by South Africa. South Africa accuses Israel of committing actions in Gaza that are “genocidal in character”. South Africa is urging the court to declare that Israel “has breached and continues to breach its obligations under the Genocide Convention”, to order Israel to cease hostilities in Gaza, to offer reparations, and to provide for reconstruction of what it has destroyed in Gaza.
