Ron DeSantis Holds Rally At Iowa Gun Store, Vows Big Changes For FBI "Culture" | US Elections 2024

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, speaking in Johnston, Iowa, suggested that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) would benefit from a cultural improvement, proposing that if the FBI were headquartered in Biloxi, Mississippi, its culture would be different. DeSantis emphasized the need to “parcel” federal agencies across the country.

During a Conservative Review podcast, he promised to scrutinize the hiring process in federal agencies, particularly focusing on the FBI. While not specifying objections, DeSantis hinted at a perceived cultural problem, suggesting a major overhaul in recruitment and organization.

It’s important to note that the FBI has actively promoted diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) initiatives, aiming to increase the representation of women to 30% by 2030, recruiting at LGBT Pride events and prioritizing DEI efforts.

DeSantis, known for proposing the relocation of federal agencies, also pledged to give Iowa “first dibs” on the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) relocation. He proposed moving agencies like the Department of Justice (DOJ) Civil Rights Division to states like Oklahoma and Iowa.
