Biden mixes up South Korean president 'Yoon' with predecessor 'Moon'

U.S. President called South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol, “Mr. Moon” on November 29, apparently mixing him up with Yoon’s predecessor, Moon Jai-in.

Biden made the error during a visit to wind tower manufacturing company CS Wind in Colorado. CS Wind is headquartered in South Korea, and Biden was addressing the company’s chairman, Gim Seong-gon, who was in the audience.

“I am friends with your leader, Mr. Moon, you know,” Biden said.

Moon Jai-in was the President of South Korea from 2017 until 2022, when he was succeeded by Yoon Suk Yeol.
