Israeli police said at least five members of an Arab family were shot dead in their home on September 27. Meanwhile, Nayef al-Sudairi, the newly appointed Saudi ambassador to the Palestinians, reportedly cancelled a planned visit to the Al Aqsa Mosque. All this comes as Israel and Saudi Arabia continue efforts to normalise the relations. Riyadh has demanded a number of concessions to the Palestinians while giving up on its earlier demands spelt out in the 2002 Arab Peace Initiative.
