UK, Germany France Firm On Iran Nuclear Sanctions As US Pursues Prisoner Swap and Fund Diplomacy

The UK, France and Germany, known as E3, have announced they will not lift sanctions on Iran according to the 2015 nuclear deal’s timetable. The decision is expected to anger Tehran and further endanger the deal’s sustainability, according to reports. Under the terms of the original deal, some UN sanctions were due to be lifted on October 18, 2023 as part of a sunset clause.
