In US news and current events today, US military veterans are speaking out against the use of the National Guard at the George Floyd protests and Black Lives Matter protests that have sprung up across the world in response to police brutality and police racism after the police killing of George Floyd.
The protests have largely been peaceful, yet President Donald Trump has threatened on numerous occasions to invoke the Insurrection Act and deploy active-duty soldiers on American soil to quash the BLM protests.
