Will the expansion of the far-right bloc change parliament's outlook? | DW News

Far-right parties made big gains in European Parliamentary elections rattling traditional parties in many countries. In Germany, the far-right AfD came in second – ahead of Chancellor Scholz’s Social Democrats.

In France the far-right trounced President Macron. Marine le Pen’s National Rally party is projected to take more than 30 percent of the nationwide ballot – more than double that of Macron’s liberal Renaissance party. In a shock response, President Macron announced snap parliamentary elections.
