France is set for further political turmoil as the fallout from President Macron’s decision to call fresh national parliamentary elections continues.

The move came as a reaction to his party taking an embarrassing beating by France’s far right Rassemblement National Party in the weekend’s European Parliament elections.

The new national vote could open the door for France to have its first ever far right prime minister.
