How legitimate is Sheikh Hasina's win in Bangladesh amid low turnout? | DW News

Bangladesh’s Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has won a fourth consecutive term in office, after her ruling party swept national elections on Sunday. The country’s election commission says Hasina’s Awami League has won the vast majority of seats in parliament. But turnout was only around 40 percent, after a vote marred by violence and boycotted by the main opposition.
