Donald Trump is set to address a rally in Iowa shortly after a Colorado court bars the former president from appearing on the state’s ballot in the 2024 presidential election.

The Colorado Supreme Court ruled that Trump is disqualified from the election because of his role in the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol by his supporters. Trump told supporters in Iowa, which in January will be the first state to choose a Republican candidate, that U.S. President Joe Biden is a “threat to democracy”.

As the Republican frontrunner, Trump is predicted to once again criticize undocumented immigrants, using language that has previously drawn criticism as xenophobic and echoing Nazi rhetoric. Despite the comparisons, Trump is expected to tell his supporters on Tuesday that he has never read Adolf Hitler’s manifesto, “Mein Kampf,” and will insist that Hitler used such language “in a much different way.”

Trump is heavily favored to win the Iowa caucuses, but there have been last-minute surprises in the past, and on Tuesday he urged his supporters to go out and vote on January 15th.
