Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has called on Israel to “immediately stop this madness” and end its bombing of Gaza.
A rally in Istanbul in support of Palestinians was expected to be one of the largest global demonstrations since the start of Israel’s war against Hamas. It was organized by Erdogan’s Islamic-conservative AK-Party, a day ahead of the 100-year anniversary of Turkey’s founding.
