Firefighters in Turkey have brought more than 100 fires under control but are still battling several in the popular tourist areas of Antalya and Mugla.

The wildfire death toll rose to eight on Sunday, with hundreds injured and thousands evacuated from their homes.

The blazes in Antalya were in two districts, while in Mugla, the Mediterranean coastal city of Marmaris and others were hit by fire.

As some residents boarded boats to flee the danger, coast guard ships waited at sea in case more evacuations were needed.
