Two men have been charged following drug raids in Adelaide’s north, with police seizing a quantity of meth with an estimated street value of $13.5 million.

The pair allegedly imported about 18 kilograms of methamphetamine which was found hidden in what the Australian Federal Police (AFP) said were “modified 4WD recovery winches”.

The AFP said the men were arrested after police searched properties in Wingfield and Modbury Heights in Adelaide’s north earlier this week.

The arrests were made at Wingfield, and police allege the men are part of an organised crime syndicate.

The joint investigation was carried by the AFP alongside SA Police and Australian Border Force officers.

Authorities are expected to provide more detail on the case at a media conference at 11:00am.
