Nigel Farage’s Reform UK has its first peer after a former Scotland Office minister became the latest Conservative to defect.

Lord Offord of Garvel, a former Tory donor, was unveiled as Reform’s newest member as Farage led a rally on Saturday in Falkirk, Stirlingshire.
It means Reform has its first member of the House of Lords — another milestone for the party, which is leading in the polls. However, Offord announced at the end of his speech that he would give up his seat in the Lords to stand in the Holyrood elections in May.
