Global AI boom pushing Singapore semiconductor firms to find foothold in the US

The global AI boom is pushing some Singapore semiconductor firms to find a foothold in the US, where new breakthroughs are taking place every few months. Every development demands semiconductor chips that do not even exist yet. One firm has located its main R&D hub in San Diego, saying the talent there has highly specialised skillsets in developing advanced engineering materials. It says doing so will even allow them to double their production capacity as soon as the end of this year. Meanwhile, another firm is hoping to ride this wave to move away from traditional, more mature semiconductor fields, into advanced ones of the future. Ivy Chok with more.
