Europol says art theft in Europe is becoming more violent. Instead of highly specialized gangs, opportunistic criminals are increasingly being recruited through social media. They’re also shifting their focus from artwork to gold, jewelry, and cultural treasures, which are often easier to sell and can bring in bigger profits.
