America’s MQ-9 Reaper drones are suffering mounting losses over Iran, with Tehran claiming to have shot down its 55th aircraft. But why are these sophisticated, multimillion-dollar drones struggling against Iranian air defences? In this video, Firstpost examines the vulnerabilities of the MQ-9 Reaper, its reliance on surveillance and precision strikes, and its limited ability to defend itself against missiles and fighter jets. With each drone costing up to $50 million, the losses raise serious questions about America’s military strategy. We also explore the strategic importance of Iran’s Qeshm Island, tensions around the Strait of Hormuz, and the latest US-Iran military exchanges. Can diplomacy prevent a wider conflict?
