Why Is Mumbai Suddenly So Hot Again? 37.4°C October Heat Explained

Mumbai is experiencing an unusually intense spell of October heat, with temperatures climbing close to 37°C just days after the southwest monsoon withdrew from the city.

Colaba recorded 37.4°C, 5.6°C above normal, while high humidity has made conditions even more uncomfortable. The sudden spike is being linked to monsoon withdrawal, changing wind patterns, reduced cloud cover, a delayed sea breeze and an anti-cyclonic circulation near Mumbai.

Meanwhile, strengthening El Niño conditions have raised concerns that warmer-than-usual weather could continue into the coming months.
Here’s why Mumbai has suddenly become so hot again.
