More than 15 vehicles were damaged on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Highway in Maharashtra’s Palghar district after several vehicles reportedly hit a deep pothole on a flyover near the Mahalakshmi Temple in Dahanu. According to reports, vehicles coming from Gujarat towards Mumbai suffered tyre bursts, leading to multiple collisions within 10 to 12 minutes. Commuters have alleged poor road conditions and visible reinforcement bars on the damaged stretch.
The incident has raised fresh questions over highway maintenance, road safety and the reported ₹620 crore white topping work carried out on parts of the route.
