Europe is preparing its response to U.S. President Donald Trump’s plans to annex Greenland. Representatives from EU states are holding an emergency meeting regarding Trump’s threat to increase tariffs on countries that resist his plans. Denmark’s Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen says Europe will not yield to pressure or blackmail. French President Emmanuel Macron urged Europe to use its “trade bazooka” against Washington. Meanwhile, German industry groups have warned that new tariffs could severely damage transatlantic relations and must be resisted.
