Why teachers rely on wish lists to fill funding gaps

Public education funding doesn’t always cover the costs for classroom supplies. To compensate, teachers create school supply wish lists or pay out of pocket for them so students have the tools they need to learn. Nevada’s per-student funding is about $3K less than the estimated national average, but hope may be on the horizon for teachers and students.
