For the first time, the world juniors sexual assault trial heard from one of the five accussed men, via police video. On Tuesday, court watched a recording of a 2018 interview with now-retired London Police Service sergeant Stephen Newton conducted with Michael McLeod, who also took the stand.

The accused — Cal Foote, Dillon Dubé, Alex Formenton, Carter Hart and McLeod — have all pleaded not guilty to the alleged sexual assaults involving the complainant, E.M., at a hotel in June 2018.
