Despite most of the Nazi government buildings in central Berlin being badly damaged and torn down postwar, Martin Bormann’s former headquarters still stands today, repaired and re-used by the current German government. Bormann used the building in his capacity of head of the Party Chancellery, a powerful position he held as well as being Hitler’s personal secretary. Today, it is one of the last prewar buildings left intact on the famous Wilhelmstrasse in the heart of Berlin.
