Vietnam Tourist Boat Capsizes: 15 Dead, Indian Tourists Among Passengers

A tourist speedboat carrying Indian tourists capsized near Hon May Rut Ngoai Island off Phu Quoc, Vietnam, triggering a massive search and rescue operation.

According to the Vietnam Coast Guard Region 4 Command, the boat overturned on July 11 near the Phu Quoc Special Zone in An Giang Province. Rescue teams immediately deployed a coast guard vessel, two high-speed rescue boats, and dozens of personnel to the accident site.

Officials said 36 people were on board the capsized speedboat. Twenty-one people were rescued alive, while 15 people were confirmed dead. Authorities also evacuated 70 foreign tourists stranded on Hon May Rut Ngoai Island and transported them safely to Phu Quoc Island.
