US-Iran war: Houthi blockade on Saudis threatens to open new front in hostilities

Indirect talks continue between Washington and Tehran despite a 10th day of US strikes. Mediator Pakistan is holding talks in Islamabad, with Iran’s interior minister set to meet the Pakistani prime minister. Explosions have been reported in six Iranian provinces and on Qeshm Island. Meanwhile, a coalition led by Saudi Arabia has pledged measures to protect commercial vessels in the Bab al-Mandeb Strait, after Iran-backed Houthis in Yemen declared a maritime blockade on Saudi shipping.
