The United States and mediators in Pakistan have announced that a comprehensive peace deal between the US and Iran has been finalized. Writing on Truth Social, US President Donald Trump confirmed the immediate lifting of the American naval blockade and the opening of the strategic Strait of Hormuz, telling the world’s shipping markets to “let the oil flow.” The announcement comes on Trump’s 80th birthday, just hours after an Israeli airstrike in Beirut threatened to derail weeks of intensive diplomacy.
