Ukraine has launched one of its largest drone offensives against Russia, with Moscow’s mayor reporting close to 200 drones intercepted over the capital alone.
Russia’s defence ministry said nearly 1,000 drones were shot down nationwide.
Moscow’s Kapotnya oil refinery was struck for the second time this week, 17 people were injured, and at least one person was killed in the Rostov region.
The attacks coincide with President Putin hosting a three-day Russia-ASEAN summit in Kazan.
Al Jazeera’s Ferdia Carr reports.
