Everyone asks “are UFOs real?” Cold War and national security researcher Larry Hancock says that’s the wrong question — and he’s spent six years with a team of researchers finding out what they actually want. In this conversation, Hancock walks Kim through the documented patterns from 1945 to 1975: the same craft with the same capabilities appearing decade after decade, first over atomic weapons development sites (Los Alamos, Hanford, Oak Ridge), then following the weapons to storage bases, then to Strategic Air Command bomber routes, then to missile silos — a precise, intelligent progression that tracked the weapons from development through deployment. He covers the 1952 wave of sightings over Washington DC, the object that hovered over Albuquerque’s nuclear weapons stockpile for 30 minutes while the base couldn’t respond, the Air Force bombers on alert whose weapon systems were jammed mid-flight, and the IFF “friendly” transmissions these objects broadcast using broken US military codes. The conclusion: they have demonstrated they can interfere with our nuclear capabilities — but never have. Whether that’s reassurance or a warning, Hancock doesn’t know. Kim and Larry also get into whether they’re humanoid (yes, consistently, for the first 30 years of documented sightings), why they don’t use language or even graphics to communicate, the behavioral-study shift in the 1960s that might mean they gave up trying to make contact, the small number of likely-real abductions, whether their base might be underwater, the possibility they’re here for the planet rather than for us, the Antarctica hollow-earth theories, RH negative blood, ancient gods — and Kim’s question about whether they came from the future and are watching us blow ourselves up.
