Trump’s Iran peace deal is a ‘trap’ ex-Navy commander warns

As the US and Iran reportedly close in on a 14-point ‘one-page memo’ to end the war, former Royal Navy Commander Tom Sharpe OBE warns that the reality on the water is far more dangerous than the politics in Washington.

With 20,000 sailors effectively held hostage and 800 ships stranded, President Trump has paused ‘Project Freedom’ – his high-stakes mission to break the Iranian blockade. But is this ‘Great Progress’ or a fatal miscalculation?

In this exclusive interview, Tom Sharpe breaks down the ‘Tehran tollbooth’, the terrifying reality of Iranian suicide swarms, and why a piece of paper won’t clear the deadly minefields currently choking the world’s most vital oil chokepoint.

Trump vs Xi: Why the upcoming summit in China is the real “end game” for the Strait.

THE US and Iran are on the brink of a peace deal that would see Tehran finally reopen the crucial Strait of Hormuz shipping lane – prompting Trump to say the “end” of the conflict is in sight.

Washington reportedly expects Tehran to sign up to a one-page memo that would end the war, free up shipping and agree to a moratorium on nuclear enrichment.

The agreement, seen by Axios, suggests that Iran would make the commitments in return for the US lifting sanctions and releasing billions in frozen funds.

Both sides would also unblock the Strait of Hormuz and allow free passage to all vessels.

The 14-point memo suggests that Iran’s restrictions on the strait would be lifted over 30 days.
