With the nazi saluting right wing extremist Elon Musk at the helm, X Twitter has become a toxic and manipulative disinformation platform. Like many other Twitter users, I found it hard to turn my back last year on the thousands of followers and connections I’d made over many years. But since making the decision to do just that, I’ve never regretted it. And Following Mark Zuckerberg’s decision to kiss the orange ring and bend his knee to Trump by getting rid of Facebook’s fact checking operation in the States, it’s clear to see THAT platform’s direction of travel, and so I’ve now terminated the Truth To Power Facebook account as well. I watched one of my friend Phil Morehouse’s videos this week, explaining why HE is sticking with X, but in this video, I’m going to respectfully set out the counter argument, the reasons to leave X, and I’m also going to tell you about a piece of software that makes the transition from X to Bluesky painless.

I appreciate all of you who share my videos with friends and social media. Together, let’s help put pressure on this centrist government to be more radical in their plans to tackle poverty, public ownership of public utilities, employment rights, an ever closer relationship with the EU, and the redistribution of wealth through fairer taxation.
