In 2022 Lynn Cannon was fatally stabbed by her former husband. Paramedic Shane Toovey was first on the scene.
The police had not yet arrived, but Toovey was aware that a woman had been stabbed and that the attacker might still be inside the house. Despite safety protocols, he decided to enter the home to begin treatment.
