Delegations from the US and Russia met in Saudi Arabia to discuss normalisation of relations and an end to the Ukraine war. Rubio denies that Kyiv and Europe were being sidelined in the process, while Lavrov maintains that Ukraine joining NATO would be seen as a direct threat to Russia. Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Zelensky has condemned the talks while on a trip to Turkiye, saying any fair negotiations would involve Europe and Ukraine.
