| True Story Documentary ChannelIn 1996, Louisiana Sheriff’s Deputy Chad Louviere rapes a woman, storms into the bank where his estranged wife works, kills a teller in cold blood and takes the six remaining women inside hostage. Police negotiators are on the scene but are unable to get their colleague to surrender. The FBI’s Chief Hostage Negotiator, Gary Noesner, is called in for help but he delivers a grim prognosis: it’s unlikely that either of the Louvieres will come out alive. With only a glimmer of hope left, Noesner suggests handing over negotiations to his protégé, FBI agent Gloria Newport. The police are sceptical. Louviere clearly hates women, but with little progress and many lives at stake, they have no choice but to let Gloria take over. The problem? It’s her first negotiation out of school and it is now up to her to find a way to convince Louviere to release the remaining hostages and to give himself up. Can Gloria rise to the challenge and prevent a tragic ending?
