Bras Basah-Bugis is entering a new phase as a creative district. Over the weekend, an open house was held at Bras Basah Complex — the first in over 40 years of the building’s history. It now hosts language and music centres, as well as art galleries. Bras Basah Complex saw footfall grow roughly 30% last year, bolstered by new tenant mix, social media efforts and even renovating the food court. Precinct manager HeritageSG hopes more of such collaborations can bring communities together, and help create identity as well as a sense of attachment. Muhammad Bahajjaj reports.
